There is a very popular laksa that located in Johor Bahru and it is very well known among the Johorean. Food Yew Laksa has set up exceed 30 years in Johor.

Foon Yew Laksa had been start their business more than thirty years ago and there is always full of customers when we visit it. Others than that, they not only serve laksa to their customers but at the same time they also serve dried and soup version to their customers. 



So their laksa is the most popular among the three version. It is because the taste of the laksa soup is very thick and it can taste the sweetness of the soup, the aroma of the coconut milk and also the fragrant and spiciness of their sambal. 
 

If you feel that their laksa is not spicy enough you can add on the sambal by yourself. So it make the laksa become so delicious and unique. Furthermore, there are many ingredients that you can add on into your laksa for example Yong Tau Fu, seafood, vegetables, hard boil eggs and so on. 
 


Beside that, their Laksa is so famous in Johor Bahru is because they really serve the best food and really fresh food to their customers and their opening hours is from 10.30A.M to 6.00P.M everyday except Monday. As a conclusion, I recommended that Foon Yew Laksa should be try when you pass by Johor bahru.

This popular seafood fried rice restaurant, even Singaporean  also know it exist and it is also close to the Woodland Checkpoint. However, there was no sign  board for this restaurant and delicious food will spread by mouth. The veteran cook stir- fried seafood fried rice for 20-30 people each time.


Every fresh seafood here was caught by fishermen today. Customers have to choose the seafood they want, and the price is calculated based on the weight of the seafood.

Today we would like to introduce a famous and well known bakery shop to you all. Hiap Joo Bakery is a bakery shop that establish by Mr Lim in 1919 until now and this shop consist of 99 years of history. This bakery shop was a family business and this bakery shop was being operate by Mr Lim son and grandchild.



Hiap Joo Bakery is famous until now is because the bread and cake is freshly made and the most important things is they are not using the modern oven to bake their bread and cake but they are using a very historical oven that use the woods as their resource to generate the fire and bake their bread and cake. So this make their cakes and bun have the aroma of the woods that can attract many people come to buy their products.

Therefore, the signature bakery products in this shop are the banana cake and the coconut bun. Both of this products are top selling in their shop. So during weekend there are many tourist come from Singapore will purchase their bakery products before they went back to Singapore and there are also many local Johor people for example people from other state in Johor will specially went to their shop to buy their buns and cake.
Others than that, their bakery shop is open everyday but different time. For Monday, their business hour is on 12.00 P.M to 5.30 P.M, for Tuesday to Saturday is from 7.30A.M to 5.30P.M and for Sunday is from 8.30A.M to11A.M only. So finally we hope you all will like this post and have a try in this historical bakery shop.(My teammate is waiting in line to buy the famous and recommended banana cake).

Mok Gao Beef Noodles Shop has set up exceed  half a century in Kulai, Johor. People who live here impossible not to know this antique flavour noodles
shop. It is always full house, sometimes is need to share table with others. As this shop is open at 4.30 am, so attract many students or who go to work early go there eat breakfast.



The specialty of Mok Gao Beef Noodles Shop is beef, there also provide another choices for those customers do not eat beef which is pork and seafood. Seafood flavour only provided start at 10 am. While the specialty of Mok Gao Beef Noodles Shop is beef but the Seafood flavour also delicious due to the soup is quite rich and the flesh of the fish is fresh. Then, Mok Gao Beef Noodles Shop had provided different staple flour food for customers choosing such as rice noodles, noodles and kuey teow. After choosing the type of meat and staple flour food, customers need to choose either with dry or soup.


The concentration of the soup is depending which broth and the dry version is used the special dry sauce made by boss. I have tried in both, dry version and soup version and i am loving in both tastes. But if want to eat the dry version must be early as it is normally sold out before 8am.

For beef, they are tender and fragrant. Add them to the herb soup, which greatly enhances the taste of the soup in overall. Moreover, for pork, they are texture and with fresh pork liver. It looks simple but the food is delicious and unforgettable taste.



Have to mention this special homemade chilli for those who love spicy taste. It can enhance the taste of food because the homemade chilli sauce is very appetising, tasty and differ with others chilli sauce.

Heng Heng Wantan Mee(兴兴)- Pontian, Johor

Pontian wanton mee is a very famous and popular food that spread among the people which is in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Batam and as well as the locals. One of the famous wantan mee that located in Pontian is Heng Heng wanton mee. As I am the local people at Pontian, so Heng Heng wantan mee is very familiar food to me and also for the locals. It is because Heng Heng is a family business that running more than 60 years. As I know the speciality of Heng Heng wantan mee is most of their ingredients are freshly made by their own. For example their noodles, char siew and also wanton. Beside that their noodles are made with huge amount eggs, flour, water and others ingredient. Others than that, their wonton is being made by the seasoned mince pork that mixed with the bream( a kind of fish) that is being dried and also their handmade grilled char siew.


Furthermore,  Heng Heng Wanton mee had provide three flavours of wanton mee which is tomato ketchup flavour, mixture of dark soya sauce with oyster sauce  flavour and also soya sauce flavour flavour. The main sauce that are the  chilli sauce, oyster sauce, dark and light soya sauce, shallot oil and also tomato ketchup. As the tomato ketchup flavour are the mixture of the sauce that stated above  and it is a very complex taste with sourish, sweet, slightly spicy,and also salty taste. As some of the locals will prefer the soya sauce flavour because it can taste the original flavour of the noodles and the noodles is serve with a small bowl of soup that consist of fish ball and self made wanton. There is also some special eating method that is being invented by the local people which is keep it in the refrigerator for next day to eat( without recook the noodles). This eating method make the noodles more springy and tasty.

As for the prices of a bowl of noodles that sold by Heng Heng is RM5.00 for having on the spot and RM5.30 is for taking away.

Nasi Lemak is a popular traditional food in Malaysia. So today I want to introduce our popular traditional food and it had been called by the "Famous Nasi Lemak in Taman Perling"
The shop is organised by the family member and they start operate from 6 p.m to 12 a.m (midnight). The most famous in this restaurant is their Nasi Lemak and their fried chicken.                                   
As know the popularity of the restaurant, this restaurant always had a queue before opening their stall start from 5.45 p.m for getting the fresh fried chicken. When I go there ready for my dinner, I saw every people hand on their plate will be defiantly will have the fried chicken with their special sambal. After I taste and the food was superb and taste differently with others Nasi Lemak.
It cost the RM 9 for two fried chicken and the nasi lemak with sambal and it consider affordable for me. It is make me will recommend my friend to comeover here to taste the best Nasi Lemak in Taman Perling. 

                      

Ah Hong Bak Kut Teh(阿烽肉骨茶),Pontian,Johor

Ah Hong Bak Kut Teh(阿烽肉骨茶)- 43, Jalan Bakek Jaya, Pontian Johor.

Ah Hong Bak Kut Teh is another popular food that located at Pontian Johor. The owner of this  restaurant is  Mr Pua Chee Hwee and he is the one who inherited the recipes of this dish.

Furthermore their shop are open from 7.30 a.m to 9.30 p.m. Most of the local in Pontian are taking this dishes as breakfast and also for lunch. First of all their signature dish is their Bak Kut Teh which used more than 10 types of herbals, garlics, pork ribs and other ingredients to cook it.

So this make this dish is full of herbal aroma that can make a person become energetic after taste it. Others than that, the soup of the Bak kut Teh is taste of  the natural sweetness from the pork ribs and it is not oily. Beside that Ah Hong  Bak Kut Teh also serve several side dishes for example claypot red wine chicken, Teochew style assam fish, and also braised chicken feet with shiitake mushroom. All of the side dishes above are the dishes that were ordered by most of the people who visit their restaurant. Recently, they had introduce several flavour of Bak Kut Teh which is seafood Bak Kut Teh and also Dried Bak Kut Teh.

So when visit to Pontian Johor do not forget come and try these dishes that sold by Ah Hong Bak Kut Teh.

Lorong Cendol Pontian- Pontian, Johor

Cendol is a very common dessert in South East Asia. For example in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and so on. So today we would like to introduce a popular and traditional version of cendol which located in Pontian Johor.

Lorong cendol Pontian is a cendol that is quite famous in Pontian among the locals and Singaporean. Every weekend there are many tourist  from Singapore that travel to Pontian will having their cendol at Lorong Cendol Pontian before they going back to Singapore. The main ingredients of that  cendol are gula melaka (palm sugar), red beans  coconut milk, green jelly that  made by rice and tapioca flour with green colouring or pandan leaf juice and shaved ice. So the unique of the cendol that sold at Lorong Cendol Pontian is the sweetness of the gula melaka (palm sugar). It is because the gula melaka that put by the seller are very generous and the gula melaka are very thick. So, this sweetness made the taste of whole bowl of the cendol become more delicious.

Finally, the price for normal size of cendol is RM2.00, that without red beans is RM1.70 and family size which is RM10.00 that can be serve for 5 to 7 person. As a conclusion I encourage the person
who travel or past by Pontian District should try the cendol that sold at Lorong Cendol Pontian.
